The Committee also includes Vitaly Mutko, the Minister of sports, tourism and the youth policy, Rustam Minnihanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Tkachyov, the governor of Krasnodar Area, other federal and regional officials, and also the head of the project Simeon Yakubov. Organization and technical maintenance of the Committee is charged to the Ministry of sports, tourism and the youth policy of Russia. So far only the initial and the final points of the rally are named Moscow and Sochi. The details of the route will be declared later. It will be already the third race of "Dakar" series on the territory of Russia. The complexity of the race is next to "Dakar" and it is a rather prestigious competition of motor racing in a world calendar, which made its debut in September, 2009. Then the race connected the capitals of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan Kazan and Ashkhabad. Later it was decided that up to the Olimpiad-2014, the rally will annually finish in the future capital of the winter games Sochi. The line of Silk way-2010 passed on the route St.-Petersburg Sochi through the cities of Staraya Russa, Vyazma, Lipetsk, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Elista and Maikop. The best race drivers of the world consider this rally as one of important stages of preparation for the future "Dakar". This year the terms of its holding are shifted under their request from September to the middle of summer. It will make the climatic conditions of the race even more close to what usually happens on the road of the main rally-raid in the world. Last year the team "KAMAZ-MASTER" came to the Silk way Rally practically at full strength on seven racing trucks. The victory was gained by the crew of pilot Edward Nikolaev, who later became also the bronze prize-winner of "Dakar-2011". This year the team, according to previous statements of its head Simeon Yakubov, also intends to provide its maximum support for the best Russian off-road race. Participation of racers from Kazakhstan on a KAMAZ truck is expected also.
