The Russian team "KAMAZ-MASTER" became the tenfold prize-winner of "Dakar". After the final stage of the most prestigious race in the world Vladimir Chagin brought the victory to Russia in the category of trucks. This has become already the seventh title for Chagin. His team-mate Firdaus Kabirov, a two-time winner of "Dakar" - took the second place. The first was injured at the very beginning; the second went down due to a technical failure after the ninth stage. The motorcycle category was won by Spaniard Marc Coma (KTM), who took the third title of winner of "Dakar" in his life. The second place was taken by the champion of the last year's race Frenchman Cyril Despres, who represented the same team. In the quadrocycle category the best result was shown by Argentinean Alejandro Patronelli at Yamaha. His younger brother Marcos Patronelli was the winner of the last rally. In the category of cars the first place was taken by Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah at Volkswagen, who had a sufficiently large advantage of his teammates Giniel de Villiers and Carlos Sainz. The racers from 51 countries of the world have 9,500 kilometers behind them, of which 5,000 kms are high-speed sections. The route of 13 stages ran through the territories of Argentina and Chile.
