Moscow motor transportation forum, which took place in the end of October, became the place of presentation of the new bus MAZ-231 which is supposed to be released as a suburban or long-distance vehicle. The presented sample drew attention of the experts by its original design, rational configuration of salon and by its power unit corresponding to requirements of the standard of Euro-5. In the 12-metre bus they managed to position 51 comfortable armchairs for passengers, thus the maximum passenger capacity in suburban variant makes 71 persons. The luggage space volume is 5 m3 that completely meets modern requirements of auto carriers. The new bus can be successfully used as an excursion or tourist one. Undoubtedly, it has become one of the most interesting exhibits in the autumn review of vehicles. Earlier, at the Moscow exhibition ExspoCityTrans 2010 MAZ offered a city low-floor bus of extra big class MAZ-205, its capacity being 184 persons. The size of the jointed bus is 1875025503150 mm and its full weight is 28 tons, it is equipped with a 326 or 286-hp diesel engines of Mercedes-Benz working together with transmissions ZF 6HP 604 C or Voith D 854.5. Within the limits of the exhibition the factory has transferred one bus MAZ-205 to the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) MosAvtoTrans to be tested on the routes of the capital which will take half a year. According to the agreement signed between JSC MAZ and SUE MosAvtoTrans" about mutual partnership regarding improvement of transport service of townspeople, the Moscow transport workers will prepare a report on the bus test, and then the SUE will make a decision on possibility of purchasing of such vehicles for the transport complex of Moscow. Bus manufacture on MAZ was created in 1993, and in October, 2009 the assembly shop gate let out the 10,000th bus. At that very time the journalists were shown the first jointed bus MAZ-205 with which, probably, the Muscovites and visitors of the capital will soon get acquainted.
