Volzhanin has presented a new jointed bus "CityRhythm-18"
Modern low-floor buses with aluminum alloy bodies of the family "CityRhythm", their length being 12 and 15 metres, have already mastered many routes of such Russian megacities, as Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, etc. In the autumn of 2010 the Bus factory "Volzhanin" (Volzhsky, the Volgograd region) presented its last innovation the jointed bus SityRhythm-18 with a peak capacity for similar vehicles 178 passengers. The technical partner of the project is the German concern MAN which gave its chassis to the innovation. Due to optimum configuration of the bus the engineers managed to keep identical height of the floor practically on all extent of the salon. The bus has four wide doorways, facilitating entry and exit of passengers of any age. The bus is equipped with a kneeling system, approaching the floor height to the ground level. For people with limited physical abibilities they provide a folding stage and special hand-rails around the medium platform. Wide windows let in much light and provide a high level of ultra-violet protection. Easy-to-open quarter lights, motorized roof hatches and climate control make a trip on the bus comfortable in any weather. Besides the various electronic control systems raising the level of safety, the bus is furnished by injury- and fire-proof composite materials. The body is made of an aluminum alloy, which provides easy replacement of the damaged element in case of an accident that reduces repair time. The first step of SityRhythm-18 to capital routes is testing of the novelty planned for the end of 2010. In the meantime, in September the agreement was signed about the delivery of 74 3-axle city buses SityRhythm-15 to the capital, and we sincerely congratulate all workers of the factory "Volzhanin" on it. After the demonstration of the bus at the festival World of Buses in Kolomna some experts from the Siberian, Ural and Central areas of the country got interested in the innovation. It was noted that the fact MAN group had given consent to service these units on its service capacities would provide easy assimilation of the bus by Russian transport workers.
